Alex Smith
Director of Newman Plus
Alex has been at Newman since 2008 and currently serves as the Director of Newman Plus, overseeing the After 3, Later Gators and Newman Summer programs, as well as the Newman Store. Alex graduated in 1995 from London Guidhall University with a Certificate of Higher Education in Business Studies. He has worn many hats since arriving at Newman in 2008 including After 3 instructor, Day Camp Head and Media Lab Head, Day Camp Assistant Director, and Summer Director. Prior to working at Newman he was a recording artist, a tour/production manager, artist manager, and held several other positions in the music industry. While at Newman, he has designed and developed many new and exciting opportunities for students, promoted the program in our school community and beyond, and implemented many of the logistical and strategic aspects that have made Newman Summer a place that children are inspired to learn and grow while having fun and building new friendships.
